چکیده
0 Abstract. The phenomenon of the so called Fermion condensation, a phase transition analogous to Bose condensation but for Fermions, postulated in the past to occur in systems with strong momentum dependent forces, is reanalysed in a model with infinite range interactions. The strongly non Fermi Liquid behavior of this system is demonstrated analytically at T = 0 and at T = 0 in the superconducting and normal phases. The validity of the quasiparticle picture is investigated and seems to hold true for temperatures less than the characteristic temperature T f of the Fermion condensation.

The self-consistent theory of the fermion condensation, a specific phase transition which results in a rearrangement of the single particle degrees of freedom in strongly correlated Fermi systems is developed. Beyond the phase transition point, the single particle spectra are shown to be flat. The interplay between the flattening and the damping of the single particle spectra at T → 0 is invest...

This paper is concerned with the weak-moment magnetism in heavy-fermion materials and its relation to the non-Fermi liquid physics observed near the transition to the Fermi liquid. We explore the hypothesis that the primary fluctuations responsible for the non-Fermi liquid physics are those associated with the destruction of the large Fermi surface of the Fermi liquid. Magnetism is suggested to...
متن کاملBehavior of Fermi Systems Approaching Fermion Condensation Quantum Phase Transition from Disordered Phase
The behavior of Fermi systems which approach the fermion condensation quantum phase transition (FCQPT) from the disordered phase is considered. We show that the quasiparticle effective mass M∗ diverges as M∗ ∝ 1/|x − xFC | where x is the system density and xFC is the critical point at which FCQPT occurs. Such a behavior is of general form and takes place in both three dimensional (3D) systems a...
متن کاملBosonization for 2D Interacting Fermion Systems: Non-Fermi Liquid Behavior
Non-Fermi liquid behavior is found for the first time in a two-dimensional (2D) system with non-singular interactions using Haldane’s bosonization scheme. The bosonized system is solved exactly by a generalized Bogoliubov transformation. The fermion momentum distribution, calculated using a generalized Mattis-Lieb technique, exhibits a non-universal power law in the vicinity of the Fermi surfac...
متن کاملQuasiparticles and quantum phase transition in universal low - temperature properties of heavy - fermion metals
– We demonstrate, that the main universal features of the low temperature experimental H − T phase diagram of CeCoIn5 and other heavy-fermion metals can be well explained using Landau paradigm of quasiparticles. The main point of our theory is that above quasi-particles form so-called fermion-condensate state, achieved by a fermion condensation quantum phase transition (FCQPT). When a heavy fer...
